Albania COVID-19 Update 8 December: 14 Dead, 753 Infections, 347 Recoveries

Fourteen people infected with COVID-19 have died in Albania in the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 936.

Over 59 percent of deaths related to the novel coronavirus, or 549 deaths have occurred since October.

753 new cases have been found in the meantime, bringing the total number of cases to 44,436. Over 67 percent of the total cases have occurred in the last two months.

347 people have recovered, 22,527 since the beginning of the pandemic.

There are currently 450 patients hospitalized with the virus, of which, 38 are in intensive care, 11 are intubated in aggravated condition.

The distribution of new cases is as follows: Tirana (431), Berat (49), Durrës (48), Lezhë (46), Shkodër (23), Sarandë (23), Kavajë (18), Fier (17), Krujë (15), Kurbin (13), Pogradec (11), Bulqizë (8), Lushnje (7), Tropojë (7), Mallakastër (7), Skrapar (6), Vlorë (6), Kukës (5), Mat (5), Elbasan (4), and one case in Mirditë, Gjirokastër, Përmet, Kuçovë.

20,973 cases are still active in the country: Tirana (11364), Fier (1620), Durrës (1374), Korça (1119), Vlora (1053), Shkodra (899), Elbasan (835), Lezha (775), Berat (742), Gjirokastra (489), Kukës (438), and Dibra (265).
