Two people – aged 59 and 73 – infected with COVID-19 have died in Albania in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of victims to 559.
172 people have died in the last 5 weeks, since October 1, which amount to 30 percent of the death toll since the beginning of the pandemic, or 44 percent of the death toll before October.
501 new cases have been found amidst the 1,942 people tested, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 24,206.
This means that 10552 people, or 44 percent of the total, have been infected in the last 5 weeks, since October 1.
90 people have recovered, bringing the total to 12,092.
There are currently 374 patients hospitalized with the virus, 13 are in intensive care, 4 are intubated in aggravated condition.
The distribution of new cases is as follows: Tiranë (219), Elbasan (33), Korçë (32), Gjirokastër (30), Vlorë (27), Durrës (24), Krujër (16), Lezhë (16), Fier (13), Gramsh (13), Kuçovë (13), Lushnje (10), Kurbin (9), Mat (7), Librazhd (7), Devoll (6), Mallakastër (4), Tepelenë (4), Mirditë (3), Sarandë (3), Delvinë (3), Malësi e Madhe (3), Shkodër (2), and one case in Bulqizë, Kukës, Kavajë, Pukë.
11,555 cases are still active in the country: Tiranë (5682), Durrës (980), Fier (916), Korçë (753), Shkodër (645), Elbasan (565), Lezhë (545), Vlorë (506), Berat (326), Kukës (267), Gjirokastër (256), Dibër (114).
