Albania COVID-19 Update 9 December: 15 Dead, 752 Infections, 545 Recoveries

Fifteen people infected with COVID-19 have died in Albania in the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 951.

About 60 percent of deaths related to the novel coronavirus, or 564 deaths have occurred since October.

752 new cases have been found in the meantime, bringing the total number of cases to 45,188. Over 68 percent of the total cases have occurred in the last two months.

545 people have recovered, 23,072 since the beginning of the pandemic.

There are currently 454 patients hospitalized with the virus, of which 39 are in intensive care, 13 are intubated in aggravated condition.

The distribution of new cases is as follows: Tirana (241), Shkodër (77), Vlorë (57), Lushnje (36), Gjirokastër (32), Kuçovë (31), Berat (29), Sarandë (28), Lezhë (24), Krujë (21), Durrës (19), Fier (15), Mat (15), Mirditë (14), Tepelenë (14), Korçë (12), Pukë (11), Kolonjë (11), Pogradec (10, Dibër (9), Mallakastër (8), Kukës (7), Malësi e Madhe (6), Gramsh (6), Kavajë (5), Devoll (4), Përmet (4), Delvinë (3), Librazhd (2), Elbasan (1).

21,165 cases are still active in the country: Tirana (11458), Fier (1600), Durrës (1341), Korça (1124), Vlora (1121), Shkodra (945), Elbasan (822), Lezha (776), Berat (764), Gjirokastra (509), Kukës (441), and Dibra (264).
