Albania COVID-19 Update 9 March: 13 Deaths, 629 Infections, 897 Recoveries

Thirteen people infected with COVID-19 have died in the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 1,969. The victims’ age varies between 57 and 85.

There were 629 new cases today, while total cases have amounted to 114,209.

Those recovered in the last 24 hours are 897 people; 76,784 since the beginning of the pandemic.

The number of vaccine doses administered so far is 20,911 of which 636 doses today.

There are currently 661 patients hospitalized with the virus, of which 43 in intensive care, and 14 intubated in aggravated condition.

The distribution of new cases is as follows: Tiranë (257), Shkodër (48), Lushnje (24), Librazhd (22), Durrës (21), Korçë (20), Elbasan (19), Berat (18), Fier (17), Lezhë (16), Vlorë (14), Mirditë (14), Kuçovë (14), Krujë (11), Gjirokastër (11), Pogradec (10), Kavajë (8), Tepelenë (8), Kukës (6), Përmet (6), Malësi e Madhe (6), Mallakastër (5), Kolonjë (5), Devoll (4), Pukë (4), Kamëz (4), Kurbin (3), Divjakë (3), Prrenjas (3), Cërrik (3), two cases in Rrogozhinë, Sarandë, Dibër, Peqin, Memaliaj, Gramsh, Shijak, and one case in Has, Tropojë, Mat, Vau Dejës, Fushë- Arrëz, Selenicë, Bulqizë, Skrapar, Vorë, Poliçan, Dropull.

35,456 cases remain active in the country: Tirana (23,475), Fier (2,546), Vlorë (1,693), Durrës (1,651), Shkodër (1,337), Gjirokaster (1,255), Korçë (881), Elbasan (701), Lezhë (702), Berat (553), Dibër (348), and Kukës (314).
