Albania will suspend all flights to and from Tirana airport as of March 23, with the exception of Air Albania’s flights to and from Istanbul.
The suspension shall remain in force indefinitely, according to the decision by the Civil Aviation Authority, due to the coronavirus crisis.
However, the Authority’s has decided to allow Air Albania to operate daily round-trip flights with Istanbul, in what appears to be an unfair preferential treatment.
A Tirana Airport announcement said it will remain “open to humanitarian flights, repatriation flights, cargo and all flights that are needed to overcome [the coronavirus crisis]”.
