Albania will open its land and air borders by the end of May and begin preparations for the summer tourism season.
“Albania will be fully open by May. Albania’s borders will be open. We will prepare for the tourist season,” Prime Minister Edi Rama announced in parliament on Thursday.
He stressed the need to implement social distancing and hygiene measures, while warning that a second possible wave of coronavirus would be more severe.
Albania closed its borders in March as a measure to stop the spread of Covid-19. It has registered less than 1,000 infected people and 31 fatalities related to the coronavirus.
