Albania will receive 40 thousand more vaccine doses from Pfizer in March, Prime Minister Edi Rama announced on Thursday from Vlora.
The country has so far received 9165 doses in total, of which 975 were donated by an anonymous EU country, according to Rama, and the rest were delivered by Pfizer in February. The Prime Minister personally received the vaccine box both times at the airport, alongside two ministers.
The government has signed a contract for 500,000 Pfizer vaccine doses.
Meanwhile, the vaccination campaign using the 9,165 doses received throughout the last two months was extended to the medical staff of the southern city of Vlora today.
It’s not clear how many doses have been used since the vaccination campaign was launched in January.
