Albanian Air and Land Borders Could Open from 18 May

Prime Minister Edi Rama has announced that Albania will start to open its air and land borders from 18 May. He said that the issue of self-quarantining those who return from abroad still need to be addressed.

During a meeting with the Council of Experts yesterday, Rama said:

“We will consult with you [the Council of Experts] on all measures. Until the 18 May, they are what they are, then the process of opening will start by air and land. There will be another challenge to ensure people respect the rules of home quarantine for those who will enter Albania.”

Air and sea borders were closed on 15 March as a result of measures taken to stop the spread of COVID-19.
