A boat captain is wanted after his vessel allegedly spilled oil in Shëngjin beach, a coastal town in northwestern Albania.
On Friday, Albanian authorities observed that the water near the town’s promenade was polluted. Subsequent examinations found traces of oil.
According to the police statement, they have issued an arrest warrant for Ermir Kosova, a commercial boat captain, whose vessel is allegedly responsible for the spill.
Authorities did not clarify if they believe the spill to have been intentional.
