Albanian Consumers Pay Second Highest Price for Electricity in Region

Albanians pay more for their electricity than people in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova, North Macedonia, and Serbia. Only Montenegrins pay a higher amount out of the whole region.

This was the findings of ACER, the European Union Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators report.

While electricity prices in the EU dropped by around 2.8 times, the above-mentioned countries saw increases of 35%.

Between 2013 and 2019 electricity prices increased by around 15.8% on average while industrial prices increased by 12.8%.

Montenegro had the highest household electricity prices (10.32 euro cents/kWh) and the lowest were in Kosovo at 6 euro cents per kWh.
