The Albanian Technical Committee of Experts has met today and has decided to extend current COVID-19 prevention measures by another two weeks.
Currently, there is a curfew between 23:00 and 06:00. During these times, only those traveling for purposes of emergency, or with permission, are allowed to leave their homes.
In terms of activities, groups of up to 50 are permitted, and wearing a mask is mandatory inside public places.
Sports events are allowed to take place with an audience, but at a 30% capacity. Likewise with activities such as theaters and artistic or cultural performances. Conferences and similar events must also abide by these rules.
When entering Albania, regardless of nationality or where you are traveling for, it’s required to present a valid vaccine certificate, a negative PCR, or a serological test.
The Head of National Emergencies, Skender Brataj, said there’s a decrease in COVID-19 infections in the country at the moment and the situation is under control. Vaccination rates still remain low, although vaccines are free and available to everyone over 18.
The Committee will reconvene in two weeks’ time to assess the situation once again.
