The Albanian Technical Committee of Experts has announced that they will soon make public their strategy for vaccinating against COVID-19.
During an online meeting held by Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Technical Committee of Experts, Deputy Health Minister Mira Rakacolli said they had discussed the strategy with Turkey.
“We have discussed with colleagues from Turkey the epidemiological situation in Albania, the policies of testing, tracking, and treatment of patients, as well as the measures taken at different stages of the pandemic in both countries. We found a lot in common between the two countries, especially in terms of treating patients. The vaccination strategy is a strategy that we have discussed and we will present it very soon,” she said.
The Deputy Minister added that there is a steady increase in cases in the country but that the situation is being monitored and new measures will be introduced if necessary.
“The situation has followed the trend of increasing cases like in other countries and it’s a steady increase. Recently, as we have stated in daily communications, there has been a decrease in the number of hospitalizations and positive cases which has come as a result of the measures imposed a few weeks ago. We are constantly monitoring the situation and based on the situation, we will adjust our position accordingly.”
