The Albanian government has provided the family of Klodian Rasha, the 25-year-old man killed by police on December 8, with a monthly pension equal to eight times the minimum social pension.
The victim’s father will receive about €700 monthly, according to a decision signed by Prime Minister Edi Rama on December 11.
Rama visited the victim’s family the day before the decision, upon returning from a US visit.
Albanians have protested for five days against police brutality, demanding the resignation of the general director of police and the reforming of police. Dozens of protesters, many of them minors and teenagers have been detained during protests.
