The Albanian government plans to cut income tax for monthly salaries under ALL 50,000 (€400) starting July 2022.
On Friday, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama announced his government will halve the income tax rate for monthly earnings between €325 and €400.
60,000 Albanians are expected to benefit from this reduction.
Rama’s post follows an earlier announcement that monthly salaries under ALL 40,000 (€325) will pay no income tax, which will impact some 72,000 employees.
Under the current income regime, monthly salaries of up to ALL 30,000 (€242) are not taxed. Salary earnings between ALL 30,000 and ALL 150,000 (€ 1,200) are taxed at 13%.
