In response to Prime Minister Edi Rama’s publication of a “black list” of about 100 officials and public servants who behaved “badly” toward citizens witout any proof or investigation, except the collective anger expressed on Rama’s Facebook wall, Erida Skëndaj, director of the Albanian Helsinki Committee, the oldest human rights NGO in Albania, released the following statement:
The publication on internet pages or in other public form of the data regarding these persons, which may civil servants, simple specialists or functionaries in these institutions, is not only illegal but may also create unnecessary worries.
It would be up to the Commissioner for the Right of Information and the Protection of Personal Data to start an investigation, give recommendations, and impose sanctions.
