Albanian Muslims Will Not Hold Eid Al-Adha Prayers in Skanderbeg Square Due to Coronavirus

On Friday, July 31, Albanian Muslims will celebrate Eid al-Adha, the Feast of the Sacrifice. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, prayers will not take place in the main Skanderbeg square, as it has in previous years.

In keeping with coronavirus preventative measures that prohibit massive gatherings, this year’s prayers will be held in local mosques.

The Albanian Muslim Committee (KMSh) announced the news on its Facebook page, stating that the main Eid prayer will be held at the Kokonoz Mosque near the New Bazaar in Tirana.
