The Democratic Party and the Socialist Movement for Integration have proposed opening electoral lists 100% and maintaining the pre-election coalitions as now provided by the Electoral Code.
Through a letter addressed to the Socialist Party representative in the Political Council, the opposition proposes:
– The multi-name list of candidates for each party should be listed in alphabetical order.
– Each voter will vote for a party and a candidate nominated by that party.
– Candidates are re-ranked only on the basis of the votes they have received, taking into account the fulfillment of the legal requirement for the gender quota.
– When the voter has voted for only one political party but not for one of its candidates, or when he has voted for more than one candidate of the same party, the vote counts only for the political party.
As for the coalitions, PD and LSI propose to maintain the current model provided by the Electoral Code:
– Two parties or more can form a pre-election coalition.
– Each of the parties proposes its own list of candidates.
