International Media Freedom organisation Reporters Without Borders has condemned both Prime Minister Edi Rama and President Ilir Meta for their “derogatory comments against journalists.”

They noted how Meta insulted Adriatik Doci from Report TV when the journalist published an investigation into the former granting citizenship to a Ghanaian footballer. Doci was then praised by Rama for his work.
RSF noted however that Rama had previously called TV Klann liars for reporting on allegedly corrupt contracts.
The organisation called Albanian political leaders our for applying double standards on press freedom.
