Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and part of his cabinet will visit Prishtina on Monday at the invitation of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
Rama’s trip to Prishtina follows a visit by the Albanian Speaker of Parliament Lindita Nikolla last Wednesday. Nikolla pledged that Albania will cooperate with Kosovo to bring back attention to the crimes Serbia committed across the Balkans in the 90s.
Yesterday, during his speech before the United Nations General Assembly, Rama urged all UN members to recognize Kosovo’s independence.
While relations between Kurti and Rama have been chilly–largely due to Rama’s close ties to Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic—the Albanian Prime Minister listed the recognition of Kosovo as one of his government’s priorities for his third term.
