Albanian Psychologists Ask to be Vaccinated Against COVID-19 as Priority

The Albanian Order of Psychologists asked the Ministry of Health to start the vaccination of psychologists along with teachers and priority risk groups.

There are 1,500 registered psychologists across the country awaiting the start of the vaccination process.

President of Albanian Order of Psychologists, Valbona Treska, through a request sent to Health Ministry, demanded  “The vaccination process of psychologists working in education, health and freelancers who practice this profession should be considered a priority as a high-risk group in the vaccination process “

So far in Albania, doctors, nurses, the elderly, and teachers have been vaccinated although this process is not complete.

The Union of Albanian Journalists has also asked that journalists and media workers be included as a priority group for vaccinations against COVID-19, following eight media worker deaths. This is supported by the IFJ/EFJ who said that journalists are essential workers during a pandemic.

The Order of Pharmacists requested the vaccination of pharmacists as soon as possible as they are part of the medical staff at the frontlines in the fight against COVID-19. This was refused by the Ministry of Health.
