Albanian Police Fines People €324,000 in Two Weeks for Curfew Violations

From April 18 to May 2, the State Police imposed fines of about €324,000.

 In an official announcement, the State Police states that during two weeks, 4857 fines have been imposed on people who have violated the quarantine measures. These include:

  • 468 people have had their license revoked and their vehicle blocked.
  • 691 drivers have been fined for having more than one person in the car.
  • 3618 people were fined with €80 (10,000 ALL), because they came out without special permission.
  • 5 people were fined with €160 (20,000 ALL), because they violated the rules for movement in the park and gardens.
  • 6 people were fined with €560 (700,000), because they did not self-quarantine, as they came from abroad.
  • 69 business owners were fined for keeping their business open outside of curfew hours.

As of Monday, the movement of people and vehicles in the cities of Dibra, Gjirokastra, Saranda, Konispol, Himara, Delvina, Finiq, Prrenjas, Pogradec, Librazhd and Divjaka has been allowed.
