Albanian Police confirmed that 60 beach chairs were set on fire in Drymades beach, Dhërmi, a coastal city in southern Albania.
The incident took place around 1 a.m. this evening.
The police suspect that a disagreement between two businessmen over who would exploit that particular beach area was the reason behind the arson.
Local media report that the business owner whose chairs were damaged had only recently received a permit to operate in the area.
This is the second incident related to beach property in the last 48 hours in Albania. On Sunday, four people were killed and two were wounded in Velipoja, following an armed conflict over the limits of the beach areas that two businessmen had rented from the government.
