The British Embassy in Pristina organized a ceremony on Sunday to commemorate the martyrs of the United Kingdom.
14 members of the British Armed Forces who served with NATO in Kosovo and lost their lives were commemorated at the memorial in Prishtina.
“They will not grow old, while we remain old […] we will remember them at sunset and in the morning,” the British Ambassador to Kosovo, Nicholas Abbott said.
While the priest Fatmir Koliqi, said that the world is not what it should be and everyone should stay together for peace in Kosovo.
The event was also attended by the Acting President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani and the Minister of Defense, Anton Quni.
Osmani said that the role of the United Kingdom in the freedom and independence of Kosovo was decisive, “so we will be eternally grateful for cultivating friendship and strategic partnership.”
“The fourteen British soldiers who lost their lives in their mission in Kosovo are also a bridge between our permanent friendship with the British state,” Osmani said.
