Chief of Police in Montenegro Leaves Office Following New Government in Power

One of the first decisions of the new government in Montenegro is an agreement with the Chief of Police for his employment to come to an end.

The newly appointed Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro, Dritan Abazovic wrote on Twitter he held a meeting with the Director of the Police Administration, Veselin Veljovic on Monday evening.

“It was agreed that Mr Veljovic will no longer be the director of Police of Montenegro,” Abazovic said.

Dritan Abazović, is the leader of the Black on White coalition, which turned to be the kingmaker of last elections.

The new Government took office on Monday from the Democratic Party of Socialists which spent three decades in power.

The cabinet led by the new Prime Minister, Zdravko Krivokapic consists of 12 ministers and a deputy prime minister, which were elected at a parliamentary session of the Montenegrin Assembly on December 4th.
