A 68-year-old woman from Tirana died on Monday afternoon at the Infectious Diseases Hospital.
The elderly woman was diagnosed with COVID-19 and was being treated in the hospital for 10 days in serious condition.
The Ministry of Health reported that in addition to COVID-19 disease, she also suffered from kidney failure and she had undergone 5 dialysis sessions while in the hospital.
She is the 24th COVID-19 victim in Albania. Out of 467 infected people, 232 have recovered.
Two other people infected with COVID-19 died in Shkodra, but the Ministry of Health has not included them in the general statistics, arguing that they had no symptoms.
