Albania’s High Judicial Council has decided to suspend judicial activity until 22 April, with the exception of urgent cases, due to Coronavirus.
Any cases that do take place will do so behind closed doors and with strict protective measures in place. The HJC urged members of the public not to appear before the courts unless they are told to by a court employee.
“Taking into account the continuation of the situation in the country created by the COVID-109 virus, the High Judicial Council took the decision to continue the suspension of activity and judicial services in all courts in the Republic of Albania, until 22 April 2020, except for urgent matters. We support the taking of continuous measures to protect the country and all citizens from the spread of COVID-19. The High Judicial Council urges the public and other court users not to appear before the courts unless they are directed to do so by a court employee and on a specific issue,” the HJC announced.
