The Special Court of Appeals will have to reconsider its decision to imprison nine Albanian officials charged with rigging a €25 million tender for police uniforms in 2020.
On Wednesday, the High Court demanded the lower court to review the case and its previous decision, as requested by those arrested, who claim that the ruling that they should await trial in prison was not based on evidence.
The Special Prosecution against Corruption (SPAK) arrested nine current and former public officials for abuses concerning a €25 million tender for the supply of Albanian police officers with uniforms through 2023.
The former head for Public Procurement at the Ministry of Interior and several members of the committee for the evaluation of offers at the Public Procurement Agency, were among the arrested.
