Skender Brataj, the Head of the National Emergency Commission said that in the coming weeks, the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Albania will surpass 1000 a day.
In an interview with Report.tv, Brataj said that the country has not yet reached the peak of the second wave of the pandemic.
“While there is an increase in figures, we have not yet reached the peak of the second wage. While the numbers will continue to increase in November and December, we can expect to see over 1000 affected each day.”
Regarding the situation in COVID-19 hospitals, he said that the increase in cases was forecast.
“The spread of infection has increased and it’s normal with the conditions of the pandemic we are in. These figures were expected to come. Testing shows the spread of infection and it’s known that a %. of those with the infection will be hospitalised.”
It may be that we have exceeded 1000 cases as day as the number of tests carried out remains low and many who call 127 with symptoms do not get tested.
