A patient being treated for COVID-19 at the Shefqet Ndroqi hospital in Tirana took their own life at around 4:30 am this morning.
According to the police, the individual is believed to have jumped from the third floor of the hospital.
The hospital announced the suicide on their website. The 29-year-old had been diagnosed with COVID-19 and was being treated in the hospital for the last 4 days. He was on the verge of recovery and only had a few days left to remain in the hospital.
The police and investigation teams are on-site to fully clarify the circumstances of the event.
