COVID-19 Restrictions Being Considered but Lockdown Wont Happen Again

The Albanian Chief of National Emergency, Skender Brataj said in an interview yesterday on Report TV that the Ministry of Health and anti-COVID experts are looking at the possibility of tightening restrictive measures to prevent the spread of the virus.

He said that while restrictions are considered, there will be no full closure and mandatory quarantine like between March and May of this year.

“There is no talk of closure, we have said it several times, there is no talk of quarantine.

The tightening of measures can either be partial or mandatory in terms of other forms of restricting the spread of infection,” he said.

Brataj stressed that citizens play an important role in the spread or not of the virus, so if they are aware and careful, restrictive measures are not necessary:

“People need to be as aware as possible to do what is up to them. If there are no more beds, equipment, human resources, there will inevitably be austerity measures. It is in the hands of the citizens, they need to be made aware. “

Brataj said that any place where there is a gathering of people, there is a risk of spreading the infection, so citizens should be aware not to gather and implement the recommended measures: wearing masks, maintaining distance and maintaining personal hygiene.
