Today, on the sixth day of the protest, the opposition has decided to hold an alternative parliamentary session in the tent in front of the Prime Ministry.
Democratic Party leader Lulzim Basha invited both left-wing and right-wing deputies into the tent, except those with a criminal past.
The parliamentary group of the Democratic Party will hold the parliamentary session here, with the citizens. The deputies of the opposition will all be here. This is the place for any other left-wing deputy that is not related to crime and that is not indebted to this people, and I assure them that the citizens will respect them if they decide to take part in this true Parliament.
The only ones who are not invited in this tent and that shouldn’t even think of coming close to this people’s parliament, are the 19 deputies with criminal records. They have no place here, and we will soon take them out from where they are.
Citizens, supporters, and opposition deputies have passed the night under the tent erected in front of the Prime Ministry. They continue to affirm their resolve not to give up until their condition for a technical government and free and fair elections has been fulfilled.
The opposition has vowed to boycott Parliament for as long as the protest continues. Today’s regular plenary session in the Parliament, in which only deputies of the majority are expected to participate, will discuss a draft law on children’s rights. Controversial laws, such as the waste management law, continue to be (unconstitutionally) relegated to the parliamentary commissions.
