The Special Appellate Panel has postponed until 18 September the decision on whether or not to dismiss prosecutor Donika Prela.
Donika Prela was confirmed in office by the first instance of vetting, in one of the most controversial decisions of the KPC .
Donika Prela most likely committed tax evasion, didn’t pay income taxes, conducted suspicious financial transactions, borrowed several times without a contract from people who couldn’t justify the money, bought two apartments below market price and sold them at a profit and didn’t pay tax on the sale.
In April 2019, Public Commissioner Florian Ballhysa requested the Special Appellate Panel to dismiss her. According to the appeal, Prela doesn’t meet acceptable criteria, mainly in the criterion of wealth.
