Yesterday, citizens of Dragobia in Tropoja blocked the national Tropoja–Valbona highway, protesting the detonations being caused by the companies that are constructing hydropower plants in the area.
Citizens said that detonations have caused massive rock collapses, damaging several houses, and endangering the lives of the locals, in the Metaliaj neighborhood of Dragobia.
These claims are also supported by the Kukës police, who, a few days ago, announced that electrical wiring had been damaged as a result of the detonations.
In the Valbona valley, the company Gener 2 is constructing a hydro-power plant on the Valbona river. Despite widespread popular protest denouncing the construction, followed by long legal processes, the company has begun construction several months ago.
