Drenova Fir National Park to Undergo Infrastructure Upgrade to Boost Tourism

The Municipality of Korce has announced that it has started a project to rehabilitate the infrastructure of the Drenova Fir National Park, to make it an attractive destination for family tourism and adventure sports.

The Municipality announced that they have started to repair the roads and put up necessary signage in the area, making it more accessible to visitors.

“Rehabilitation of the road, signage, picnic area, parachuting, and marking of footpaths will be realized as a result of co-financing between the Municipality of Korca and funds from the European Union. They will turn Bozdovec into one of the most frequented natural areas for residents and tourists,” the municipality wrote.

Located 10km from the city of Korce, Drenova Fir covers 1,380 hectares and lies in the Morava Mountain Range. It has a number of attractions including Bozdoveci, Guri i Capit, and Cardhaku which are rich extraordinary flora and fauna. As well as being a popular destination for hiking, mountaineering and nature exploration, it is also home to the Bozdovec Bear, a rare native species.
