Durres judge that was delegated to Korca, Mimoza Margjeka has been placed under arrest following an investigation that found her husband Arben Cara, a law professor, had received EUR 6000 from the family of a defendant.
It is believed that following the receipt of the bribe, Margjeka changed the security measure or Orion Bali who was arrested in July 2020 for transporting 14 illegal immigrants from Korca to the border with Montenegro.
The judge was placed under house arrest and the case is being investigated by the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime in Tirana.
