Durrës Port Employs Thermal Imaging to Fight Coronavirus Spread

In an attempt to trace and contain coronavirus cases coming from outside Albania, the port of Durrës has been equipped with thermographic cameras intended to measure travelers’’ temperature at a distance.

The cameras are monitored by the port’s medical team, said the Durrës Port Authority head.

Though the merits of infrared cameras in curbing the threat of coronavirus have been debated, the Durrës port is hoping this will be a fast way to screen incoming and outgoing citizens, while ensuring the safety of its medical staff.
