Earthquake Anniversary, UAE Pledges to Build 2,000 Apartments

The United Arab Emirates will build 2,000 apartments in Durrës, and invest in transforming its cargo port into a tourist port.

On the anniversary of the November 26 earthquake that left 51 dead in Albania, Prime Minister Edi Rama travelled to Abu Dhabi where he met the UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Rama said they signed an agreement that will enable the reconstruction of 2,000 apartments damaged by the earthquake, and an intergovernmental economic cooperation deal focusing on direct investments, including the transformation of the cargo port of Durrës.
