Eight Suspected Coronavirus Cases Awaiting Test Results in Kosovo

Today, eight suspected cases of coronavirus infections were reported in Kosovo. Authorities are awaiting test results.

Head of the Infectious Diseases Hospital Lendita Ajvazi-Berisha has told reporters that the cases being tested have recently arrived in Kosovo from abroad.

On Monday, the country’s Ministry of Health asked the government for €10 million in funds intended to prevent and cure any cases of coronavirus in Kosovo.

Currently, Kosovo is among three European countries, alongside Turkey and Montenegro, with no confirmed infected cases.

Over the last two days in Albania, 10 coronavirus infected cases have been confirmed, leading to the government closing down schools temporarily. Meanwhile, the opposition has called for even harsher measures in order to prevent the rapid spread of the virus that took place in Italy.
