The European Union has delivered the first part of 10 thousand COVID-19 rapid tests pledged as donation to Albania.
The undisclosed numbers of test kits in this first shipment was delivered to the Institute of Public Health on Tuesday.
EU Ambassador Luigi Soreca said these test kits will help detect the virus and move faster into treatment and recovery.

The EU has procured €4 million in medical equipment for Albanian through the United Nations.
Albania has stopped reporting the total number of PCR tests conducted since the beginning of the pandemic. As a result, it’s not clear what part of the test kits used so far was actually purchased by the government versus those donated by the EU and US.
