The European Union Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, will visit Kosovo from Monday (27 June) until Wednesday.
The announcement from the EU Office in Pristina states that during his visit to Kosovo, Lajçak will meet with Prime Minister Albin Kurti and leaders of the main opposition parties.
During his visit, Lajçak will also meet with representatives of the international community in Kosovo. and will travel to Prizren in the south and to the Serb-majority north.
Kosovo is still reeling from yet another EU disappointment at the EU-Western Balkan summit in Brussels last week where visa liberalisation was not granted, despite the country fulfilling all conditions several years ago. It remains the only country in Europe where its citizens cannot move without a visa.
Furthermore, EU-backed dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia has yielded several signed agreements but little in the way of implementation. Throughout 11 years of meetings, the core issue of Kosovo’s sovereignity has never been on the table.
