A permanent solution implies a realistic, stable, and viable solution in accordance to international law to which Prishtina and Belgrade must comply with.
EU spokesperson Carlos Martin spoke thus when asked regarding finding a solution to the Kosovo-Serbia conflict.
By offering an ambiguous and indirect answer when asked whether or not the EU supports the Serbian President Vučić’s solution of trading territories, Martin stated that Vučić and Kosovar President Thaçi held intensive talks and they are expected to meet again in September. EU is expecting a final deal will be reached next spring.
Carlos Martin concluded by saying that “the EU-mediated dialogue aims to encourage a permanent cooperation between the two nations and help them in their path towards eventual EU membership.”
