Flights Between Austria, Italy, and Belarus Scheduled Today Amid Air Travel Confusion

Tirana International Airport has confirmed that four flights will go ahead today.

They are as follows:

  • Wizz Air Vienna and return;
  • Air Albania Rome and return;
  • Air Albania Milan and return;
  • Belavia Airline Belarus and return.

The airport has advised passengers to contact airlines before travelling, to respect hygiene protocols and to wear a mask as these are mandatory at the airport.

Only EU nationals or those with a valid EU resident permit are allowed to travel.

The Airport said the situation is changing every few hours and asked for the understanding of passengers.

Yesterday, a plane travelling from Zurich to Tirana remained on the tarmac in Switzerland. Albanian authorities had not granted access to the airline and no agreement had been signed between the two countries regarding the reopening of flights.

There were other problems reported yesterday with US citizens being able to leave Tirana, but being refused transfer in other airports.

While guidelines for travel and information on which country is open is being updated regularly, there appears to be confusion on the ground in airports. Several countries that were due to open their borders yesterday for international travel, did not, or made additional changes causing more confusion.
