Foreign Residents 70 and Over Can be Vaccinated at Skanderbeg Square

The Institute of Public Health has confirmed that foreign residents in Albania who are over 70 and wish to get a COVID-19 vaccine, can do so.

Following questions to the Minister and the Institute, this morning Exit was able to confirm that the process for this category is as follows:

  1. Prepare residence document, passport, and any medicines that are currently being taken (just the inserts/paper from the box would suffice)
  2. Go to Skanderbeg Square in the centre of Tirana where mass vaccination is taking place. It is open from 9am-7pm but the Institute advised the best time is between 12 and 1 any day of the week.
  3. Queue, present documents to the doctors, confirm if there are any allergies or contraindications with medication being taken.
  4. Get vaccinated and receive the vaccine certificate.

In the case of those who are not 70 or over, the Institute advised waiting for the announcement of each different category. When the category that the individual fits into is called, they may follow the above process. For example, those over 60, those with medical conditions making them high risk etc

They confirmed there is no need to register with a family doctor, or via the e-Albania portal.

Residents in other cities are advised to follow the same process but at the local mass vaccination centre.
