A 43-year-old infected with Coronavirus has died this morning.
The fourth fatality in Albania, the patient was in intensive care at the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Tirana. The condition of the patient deteriorated last night and they were placed on a respirator. Despite the best efforts of medical staff, they passed away this morning.
It has been reported that the victim, from Kavaje, had no underlying health issues other than the novel coronavirus.
This brings the total number of fatalities in the country to four.
The Ministry of Health has expressed condolences to the family of the deceased and appeals again for people to stay at home and observe the rules of social distancing.
