The fourth day of protests that followed the police killing of Klodian Rasha has concluded after an hour.
Protesters, young people joined by their parents, holding signs demanding “Justice for Klodian” and the resignation of head of State Police Ardi Veliu, gathered in several locations in the capital, including in front of the Prime Ministry building, the Ministry of the Interior, the State Police headquarters, Bllok, and Skanderbeg Square.
As protesters gathered in front of the Prime Ministry started heading towards the State Police headquarters, the police used tear gas to disperse them.
As a result, a number of protesters took refuge in nearby apartment buildings. Nonetheless, the police detained and arrested several of them.
According to journalists on the ground, the police ‘trapped’ protesters, blocking off the streets that led to the State Police headquarters.
During the past four days, protesters have clashed with the police. Over 100 people have been detained, including two journalists.
