Yesterday during a work visit to the electricity substation in Orikum, part of €49 million investment of the German government through the KfW Bank, German Ambassador Susanne Schütz stated in a declaration for the media that the elections need to be held according to the time frame determined in the Constitution:
We have the view and perspective that the elections in Albania have to be a free and fair process that are held in accordance with everything that the Constitution determines, at the right moment in time and in this electoral process especially those parties should take part that want to be part of this process.
She also declared that the opposition needs to return to Parliament:
We are of the opinion that the opposition has to return to Parliament and in such a way give its contribution i the realization of that very important reform of the judicial system, to which Germany has made essential contributions.
