The Albanian government has approved the use of another part of the earthquake reconstruction fund that was allocated from last year’s budget.
Some 1.34 billion lek will go to the Municipalities of Durres, Shijak and Kurbin.
The money will be used to finance the repair and reconstruction of housing that was damaged in the 26 November earthquake. Specifically, it will be designated to those whose homes do not need to be rebuilt but require minor or significant repairs be made.
These individuals will benefit from reconstruction grants for individual houses or apartments within a unit.
Durres, Kurbin, and Shijak were three of the areas that were worst hit by Novembers earthquake that killed 51 people and left over 10,000 homeless.
