Government Proposes Early Pension for State Intelligence Agency Employees

The government is proposing early pension payouts for Albanian Intelligence Agency (ShISh) workers who choose to do leave, or are dismissed by their institution head.

Applications for early pension will be appraised by a Special Committee selected by ShISh.

Applicants will be assessed based on their physical conditions, their age, and their professional seniority.

The latter two, age and seniority, are specified in the government’s bill. ShISh agents who are 57 years old or older, as well as those who have served for at least 25 years in military and police structures, can retire early.

The bill does not, however, specify the “physical ability” parameters on which ShISh employees will be assessed.

Those who leave their ShISh jobs will receive 50% of their monthly wage, until their retirement, and are mandated to work 700 hours a year.

The government has also proposed a similar law for State Police officers.
