The Albanian government has announced some relief measures for those affected by the November 26 earthquake.
Each family that has lost a member in the earthquake with be provided with ALL 1 million (€8,150, $9,000). Students in these families with receive ALL 15,000 per month (€120, $135).
Albert Cara and Lindita Cara, the only survivors of the two Cara families in Thumane that lost 9 members, will receive a regular stipend for life.
Families who lost a member in Durres will be “urgently” provided with new apartments.
Apartments will be provided in Tirana to families from Thumane, if they wish to move to the capital.
Special pensions will be awarded to the retired of families that lost their members.
Prime Minister Edi Rama refused offers by some companies to build apartments for homeless families. He invited them to donate money, adding that the government will oversee the construction of new apartment blocks as the only way to check their quality.
