A 500kg World War II bomb has been found in Tirana.
The announcement was made by Minister of Defense Olta Xhacka and was found in a suburb of the city which was once home to an airfield.
The Minister said the bomb was moved in a safe location and was detonated successfully in a controlled explosion.
No details were given as to how the bomb was discovered.
A similar 500-kg-bomb discovered in Germany this months sparked the evacuation of 13,000 thousand people from the area before authorities defused it.
